Aug 28, 2010 - @mbuena I am being honest. Nowhere do I imply that there is no antenna problem. If you read my postings again, you'll see that what I'm saying is the antenna problem can be easily fixed by putting on a case. Even with a case, the iphone4 is much better looking than other smartphones, so there shouldn't be an issue there. Imagine if Steve Jobs intro'ed the iphone4 with a case on it. Then everyone would be going gaga over it anyway and we wouldn't have antennagate.

Aug 27, 2010 - @wildmushroomfarmer I actually think the new look is awesome.. why would you hide sign a great looking thing in such an ugly case if it wasn't for the reception issues? One of the things about the new phone is how scratch resistant the glass is.. and how it's made from the same things as Helicopter/Bullet train windshields.Be honest, you wouldn't go buy a premium car only to cover it in rubber shielding just so you can drive it would you? On but you should.. it fixes the driving problem.

Aug 27, 2010 - @mikeward1701 I've been playing with a work mate's phone the last week, he's selling his one. I have seen the same thing.. you typically loose 2 bars by holding the phone slightly in that area, if you death grip it it completely drops signal which I must admit you'd rarely do.I was thinking of buying the phone off him, but on my journey to and from work, some places dont have 3G reception, and the places were I have 2G reception some give me 1-2 bars, calls do drop when I go into these areas.

Aug 27, 2010 - @ikillar97 Mate, you have to activate ALL iphones by design to get to the homescreen before you can do anything... the only way you can avoid it is by Hacktivating it which can only be done on the 2G/3G. The newer 3Gs and 4G can't be.

Aug 27, 2010 - @steakIT99 I would have to agree.. BUT, not every smartphone has the problem in the area where people hold their phones most. I mean even the iPhone commercials show it being held there.

Aug 13, 2010 - This problem appears on every smartphone when you use the "Death-grip"

Aug 9, 2010 - ive had my iphone 4 for a week now, bought it unlocked from apple ,i have no problems regarding signal exept in places with bad 3g reception,so what i do is turn 3g off and use the standard reception i only really turn 3g on if i want to go on the net or use a aplication that requires internet.if my 3g signal is strong theres nothing i can do to bring the bars down including the death grip.as soon as i turn 3g off in poor reception areas the bars shoot to the top. exellent phone.ime on o2 uk.

Jul 3, 2010 - @Beerlover2007 I live in Derbyshire. But most of the time i'm in Manchester and my signal seems to be high where ever i go. Top phone :-)

Beerlover2007 Says:

Jul 3, 2010 - @JoshyBloor is the iphone 4 any good on voda? and where abouts you live?

wildmushroomfarmer Says:

Jul 2, 2010 - JoshyBloor, you are one of the few people I've seen in the comments that make sense. Just put the phone in a case, and problem solved. Most people will do that anyway, even without the antenna problem. I don't see why youtube is full of videos of people getting their panties in a bunch over this issue.

mikeward1701 Says:

Jun 29, 2010 - I have the issue on my black 32gb also on orange, goes from 5bar 3G to 2bar, still keeps 3G though and speed tests don't show much difference.

JoshyBloor Says:

Jun 28, 2010 - I have the same problem with Vodafone... It's nothing to do with the network. It's either a design flaw or a software flaw. I have ordered a case as this is meant to fix the problem.
